Chalon-sur-Saône: Opposition boycotts council: "We cannot carry out our duties effectively"

"We, the opposition elected officials, have collectively decided not to attend the municipal council meeting," nine municipal councilors stated in a statement they co-signed. They noted that this is the first time in five years.
The cause: "In the middle of the summer period, we were informed by email on Monday, July 21, of the holding of a municipal council meeting on Monday, July 28, with knowledge of the agenda of 50 reports on Tuesday, July 22 in the evening and the invitation to a pseudo-preparation meeting on Friday, July 25, 72 hours before the debates of the municipal assembly (Saturday and Sunday included)." They believe that under these conditions: "We cannot effectively exercise our function as minority elected officials." They denounce, among other things: "the autocracy of Gilles Platret."
The co-signatories are Mourad Laoues, Amandine Ligerot, and Christophe Regard, from the list "Living Well in Chalon", Nisrine Zaibi, Laurent Cagne and Michel Bonnet, from the list "Cultivons Chalon", Cécile Lamalle, from the list "Chateau Jour Chalon"; Alain Rousselot-Pailley and Didier de Carli, from the list "For Chalon with You".
